Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? You’re in the right place. Our FAQ page covers everything from pricing and turnaround time to how our web design process works and what’s included in your plan. Whether you’re just exploring or ready to get started, you’ll find clear answers here.

  • The subscription runs for a minimum of 12 months. After that, it moves to a month to month plan, and you can cancel anytime. The website is part of the subscription, so if you cancel after the first year, you won’t keep the site. That’s how we’re able to keep things affordable and sustainable!

  • You just have to sign a new 12 month contract.

  • If you cancel your subscription early, you owe the full cost of what the site would normally cost ($3800) minus whatever you already paid. We really prioritize long term relationships with our clients and we want to work with clients to share the same philosophy.

  • If an invoice isn’t paid within 7 days, a $25 late fee will be added. For subscription clients, if multiple monthly payments are significantly overdue, we reserve the right to cancel the contract and bill for the full value of the website. We’re very flexible and understanding, and we’re always happy to work with you if something comes up. That said, if there’s no communication or response over an extended period, we have to protect the work we’ve put in and make sure we’re compensated fairly.

  • We send email invoices using Square which provides a link to a secure page for adding payment details. Subscriptions are paid with a credit card or debt card and we accept all major credit cards. Lump sum projects are paid with ACH bank transfer to minimize processing fees. Important to note, we do not accept money orders or checks.

  • The $100 fee for additional pages is a one-time charge, not monthly. So if you need 3 extra pages, it’s just $300 total. You won’t be charged again for those pages. Don’t worry, we’re not that crazy.

  • When you sign a contract, whether it’s a lump sum or a subscription, if we can’t design something you’re truly happy with and you decide not to move forward, we’ll refund whatever you paid up until that point. Once we move forward with building the site, refunds are no longer guaranteed and are offered at our discretion.

  • Our subscriptions are indefinite, meaning you continue paying monthly after the initial 12-month minimum. We structure pricing this way because it usually takes around three years to earn the same amount we would from a traditional lump-sum website project. Our goal is to build long-term partnerships that last many years, which helps make this model financially sustainable for us. By that point, your website will likely be delivering far more value than the $175 monthly fee, essentially paying for itself. We hope you’ll continue to see the value in our ongoing support and choose to maintain your subscription so we can keep helping your business grow online.

  • No, we don’t offer a buyout option for our monthly subscription. Our business model is built around long-term client relationships, since it usually takes two to three years to earn what we would from a one-time project. Subscriptions only become sustainable for us when clients stay for five years or more. This recurring revenue gives us a stable foundation, which means we can focus more on serving our clients instead of constantly chasing new ones. As a result, we’re able to provide fast communication, ongoing improvements, and the kind of hands-on support that sets us apart from other agencies.

  • Absolutely! We offer an optional add-on for unlimited edits and support at $50 per month. This comes with a 12-month minimum commitment. It can’t be paused and restarted month to month, so if you cancel and later want to reinstate it, you’ll need to start a new 12-month term.

  • The main difference is short-term vs. long-term cost. A subscription spreads payments out into smaller monthly amounts, which makes it easier to manage, but costs more over time. The lump sum option saves money overall, but requires a larger upfront payment.

If you prefer a lower entry cost and want ongoing support, the subscription is a great choice. If you’re fine with paying more upfront and don’t need ongoing service, the lump sum option gives you long-term savings.

  • Yes and no.

SEO is made up of two main parts: on-page and off-page optimization. On-page SEO includes everything we do on your website itself, such as content structure, page speed, accessibility, and meta information. Off-page SEO covers things outside your website, like backlinks, directory listings, and content partnerships.

Our website packages include the most important on-page SEO fundamentals: fast loading times, accessibility compliance, Google Search Console setup, sitemap configuration, optimized meta tags, and basic content support. This gives your site a strong foundation.

However, SEO is an ongoing process. To rank competitively in search results, especially in tougher industries or markets, you’ll need a more in-depth, long-term SEO strategy. For that, we partner with Adam Gingery, an experienced SEO specialist who offers full-scale SEO services separately from our website plans.

If you're interested, we’ll gladly connect you with Adam so he can walk you through his approach, available services, and pricing options.

  • No we do not. E-commerce is a lot more work to set up than a regular business site. Since it has such high costs, we cannot afford to set them up for $175 a month. If you are interested in an e-commerce site, it would be best to reach out directly to chat about your specific needs!

  • Yes, you will always own your domain, regardless of which package you choose!

  • Most websites are completed within 2 to 4 weeks. The exact timing depends on how quickly we receive your content and images, as well as our team’s current workload.

  • Unfortunately not, because everyone would do that and we would go out of business! However, you maintain ownership of your domain and assets.

  • Absolutely, you fully own your domain. Even if we purchased it for you, we’ll transfer it to you if you ever decide to end your service with us. We will never take your domain hostage!

  • Not at all. Every website we build is hand-coded from scratch with no templates or page builders. This gives you a faster, more unique, and more reliable site that stands out and performs better long after launch.

  • Custom code offers several key advantages, including stronger security, faster loading times, easier maintenance, lower long-term costs, and more flexibility to customize your site. Unlike WordPress sites that depend on plugins and require constant updates, our websites don’t use databases or third-party add-ons. This makes them more secure and less vulnerable to hacking, without the need for ongoing patches or updates.

  • Yes, absolutely. If something were to happen to me (the owner and operator), I have trusted colleagues who are familiar with how everything is built and ready to take over the business. Your website will always have someone available to maintain it and keep things running smoothly.

  • Just send your request to miles@rainierwebdesigns.com or call (206) 801-0718. Your request will be added to our ticketing system so our team can track it from start to finish and make sure everything gets taken care of.
